Strengthening Community Partnership & Empowerment recognizes that the future strength of our community lies with our Youth and that there are significant challenges for young people in our community.

To support them to develop into responsible, fulfilled adults we have established a Smart Youth Club with several of the local Kilifi schools, parents, community leaders and school committees.

SMART Youth Clubs are after school clubs that use plays, games, group discussions and other participatory techniques to engage adolescent boys and girls.

Our main aims are:

• Empower the youth with the life skills to achieve their dreams,
• Provide them with the knowledge to help them maintain their sexual health and delay the age of sexual
• Strengthen self-esteem to help avoid irresponsible and destructive behaviors and relationships.

Why is the Smart Youth Group needed?

Boys and especially Girls in Kilifi face significant challenges to allow them complete their education, live healthy and fulfilling lives and to achieve their full potential, things that we believe are the very basic of human rights.  Among these challenges are:

• HIV/AIDS
• Teen-age pregnancy
• Child sex tourism
• Cultural gender inequality
• Alcohol and drugs
