What we do
1999-2009: 10 Years supporting the Kilifi Community
SCOPE (Strengthening Community Partnership & Empowerment) is a Non-Government Organization based in Kilifi in the Coast Province of Kenya. Established in 1999 as a small community based support group by a group of Professional Health Volunteers who were increasingly concerned about the levels of poor health and HIV/AIDS prevalence in their Community.
Over the years, SCOPE has developed into a key partner in the communities of the district in the fight against HIV/AIDS and poverty.
Our main interventions include:
- Child Labour protection working with International Labour Organisation
- HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care programmes recently working with the USAID APHIA II and the Ministry of Health
- Food Distribution and monitoring in partnership with Ministry of Health, the World Food Program and Family Health International
- Community Liaison and Support in DASS feedback programme with Ministry of Agriculture
- Smart Youth programme empowering Kilifi Youth to lead more responsible, healthier lives in partnership with several Kilifi schools
- Business Development programme to support the creation of sustainable livelihoods within the community and the extension of our programs beyond our donor support.
- Environment helping to protect our eco-system and helping our communities to harness our environments power in a sustainable way
